Paul Robeson tomato has a cult following due to its incredible flavour. It is a determinate (bush) heirloom tomato with medium-large brick-red fruits with green shoulders. It has a deep, distinctive, and smoky flavour that's just phenomenal. One of my top 5 tomato varieties (and I've grown hundreds).
Named in honour of the famous opera singer and activist, Paul Robeson.
Growing Instructions
Growing Instructions
Start indoors 6-8 weeks before planting out date. In southwestern BC, I plant mid-March for planting out mid-May. Seeds benefit from bottom heat when germinating. Grow in full sun. Stake plants with a tomato cage or trellis. This is an determinate variety, so prune only minimally. Fruits are ripe when slightly soft, and a deep red colour- this variety has green shoulders even when ripe.

Live plants, bulbs, and bulbils can only be shipped within Canada.

Shipping in Canada
We ship seeds in Canada via regular letter mail, which is an untracked service, and usually takes 1-3 weeks to arrive once we fulfill your order, but occasionally orders take longer, especially to the Eastern provinces and rural areas.
Customers can now opt for tracked, express shipping options at checkout if you require faster delivery.
Larger bulbs and plants are sent via tracked flat rate box.

Please expect delays for US shipping, as during busy times it can take up to 2 weeks for us to book a phytosanitary inspection.

Great seeds. They are strong and beautiful plants. Thank you!
I bought these Tomatoes as starts last year and loved them, I'm looking forward to starting them from seed this year. Lovely plants with great tasting fruit, loved making BLTS with these!
Very accommodating and communicative seller. I haven't grown the seeds yet but will see in the summer how they grow. I was happy to get the Paul Robeson as they seem to be hard to find.
