A must-have for any garden! Calendula is edible, medicinal, bee-friendly, and beautiful.

This calendula mix is beautiful shades of yellow and orange. Occasionally there are flowers with subtle stripes. Calendula is a cold-tolerant flower with medicinal and edible blooms. Dry the whole flowers to infuse in oil for use in soothing skin treatments. The fresh petals make a great addition to salads, soups, and tea blends.

Calendula is one of the first seeds my mom grew in her garden. When she opened the seed packet, she thought they had made a mistake and had sent her dead bugs! Happily, the calendula seeds just *looked* an awful lot like dead bugs, but they were in fact real seeds. Those flowers grew into the seed stock that we've been growing in our gardens for 30 years! It feels special to be offering these seeds to the world.

Pollinators of all kinds love calendula. When I'm out in my garden, it's actually difficult to get a photo of the blooms without a bee on it. It's an important early season food source for bees. I have also seen male solitary bees sleep in the flowers overnight. They climb into the bloom in the evening, allowing the flower to close over them at night. In the morning they fly away once it warms up and the flower opens.

Growing Instructions
