These beautiful beans are very rare! We believe we are only one of two suppliers in North America. They are grown by my friend Jenelle of Nanoose Creek Farmhouse. The colour of these beans is stunning. They are a light grey/pink with a dusting of light purple flecks, with larger deep purple flecks on top. The "eye" of these beans is stark white surrounded by a ring of deep purple. Photos don't do these beans justice! This variety is a must for any bean collector.

These beans grow on semi-bush plants, which climb a little bit, so provide a low trellis or stakes. Can be eaten at the green bean stage, or let the pods dry down and collect the dried beans for use in soups and stews in the winter.

We can't find much info about this bean other than the description from Russ Crow's 'A Bean Collector's Window':
"Semi-Runner/Dry. 90+ days to first dry pods. Early, beautiful and productive. This bean should develop runners and want to climb however it keeps growing here for me as a bush variety, and reported growing as a bush from another grower that I have sent it to. The seed looks better in person than in a photo. Heavy pod set. A European variety obtained from a grower in Belgium in 2018 who obtained it from a grower in Croatia"

Growing Instructions

Direct sow 1" deep mid-May to late July in southwest BC after all danger of frost has passed about 4" apart. Provide a low trellis or poles for the short vines to grow up. Harvest the green beans when young, or wait until the pods dry down for dry beans. Can be grown in containers.
